What inspired you to start BiQi?

I always knew I wanted to work for myself – mostly because I never liked other people telling me what to do. 😂  I ended up working in corporate advertising for years before being robbed of my joy enough to know I had to do something different.  In the middle of 2015, I suffered a spontaneous carotid artery dissection and a stroke, an injury most people don’t survive, and spent the next 6 months recuperating.  It was grueling.  The physical trauma had weakened my entire left side and the neurological trauma affected my vision, language, cardiovascular and central nervous systems.  By the grace of God,  🙏  after six months of treatment, I’d regained enough of my functioning to return to work.

When I went back, it was painfully obvious that the culture just didn’t fit me and that it was time for a change.  The atmosphere was so negative and stressful, all my symptoms were exacerbated and my doctor was afraid if I continued, I might reinjure the artery.

She wasn’t confident I’d survive a reinjury so I had a decision to make.

After blowing through my savings to cover the cost of my medical treatment, I fearfully lept into what had always been my dream – building a business of my own.  It was the most terrifying thing I ever did and it’s been the best decision I ever made. Today, we’ve grown into a team of over 10 serving over 25 businesses – and we’re rapidly expanding!

What is the long-term vision for the company?

In my time in traditional advertising, I was troubled by the lack of investment in the businesses we were serving.  Campaigns had little strategy, no measurability and were often too overpriced for many businesses to utilize.  Our vision is to make marketing scalable for businesses who are growing, assist them in developing their business and create long-term, sustainable growth. Our goal is to restore America to the thriving economy it once was when small business dominated the economic landscape by supporting small business growth and developing meaningful relationships with consumers.

We are on a mission to put millions of dollars back into the hands of small business owners.  We proudly beat our Mission’s drum – The Harmonious Economic Revolution: Empowering The People Through Conscious Capitalism.

What do you want the world to know about BiQi?

We are not an advertising company. 🚫 We are nothing like your television, newspaper or radio rep. 🚫 We are not sales people. 🚫

We are a marketing and consulting firm.  We are a business partner.  We are a friend.

We have a completely different way of approaching marketing.  It is nothing like what you’ve tried before.

We start with the consumer and work our way backwards to the business: creating a consumer persona, developing a holistic digital strategy and designing a clear path to purchase that engages, empowers and excites the target audience to make a buying decision that enriches their lives!  We only win when the consumer and the client win so authenticity, honesty and powerful connection are key!

What has been the highlight of your business so far?

Watching the people we serve build their dream and watching

my team members grow into their unique and unlimited greatness.  👑

Being an entrepreneur is hard work.  Our clients are often so overstretched, overstressed and overworked that being a reliable and devoted member of their team takes the pressure to perform in sales off their minds.  This gives them more time to invest in developing their business further, supporting their team or learning how to relax. 🌴 Since what we do is trackable, we provide detailed and accurate return-on-investment reports to show them exactly what we’re doing to move their business forward and make their dreams a reality.


Our team has a commitment and devotion to our clients’ success.  Each of them are personally invested.  This is more than a “job” to them – it’s a purpose.  Every day they strive to learn more, perform better and develop deeper, more meaningful relationships with each other and all those they come in contact with. 💞 They are hopelessly devoted to bringing joy into the lives of everyone around them.  You’ll enjoy each moment you spend with them so much, you’ll forget you’re working.  They’ll greet you with a smile and leave you with a hug.  They’re truly remarkable people, each and every one of them, and it’s a blessing to build this dream with them every day.

The results we produce move me in the most meaningful ways.  One of our clients saw a 5:1 return on investment in her first 4 weeks… and I cried.  😊  A business we helped develop put up its new window display… and I cried.  My team members overcome a personal barrier… and I cry.  My heart is in everything that I do.  I know you’re not “supposed” to take business personal.  But my business is personal.  My team and my clients become my family and my mission is to make their wildest dreams for their lives come true. ❤ What could possibly be more fulfilling than that?

What advice would you give to new business owners?

Entrepreneurship is the greatest test of character.  You will be tested and tried and tested again.  You’ll have to constantly improve yourself.  You’ll be blindsided.  Unappreciated.  Overworked.  You’ll fail sometimes.  You’ll win a bunch.  Focus more on the winning and how to win more, faster.  Don’t worry about being wrong sometimes.  People need to know your human.  Be humble.  You’ll screw something up soon enough – and it won’t be the end of the world.  Be compassionate.  The old saying is very true – people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Laugh.  For the love of God, don’t take it too seriously or you’ll miss out on all the fun. 😊

We’re so happy to have you with us at Metro!  Can you share a bit about your experience with us?

Metro has truly become my family.  I started as a virtual tenant in 2016 when I started my business.  It gave me a professional address and meeting spaces while I was still working out of my home so I wasn’t stuck in coffee shops.  Over time, the business grew and I had built such an amazing relationship with the Metro team, there was nowhere else I’d rather be than in one of their office suites.  Being a part of the Metro family has introduced me to other small businesses, many of which have become friends, advisers and some have become clients – further supporting my business growth.  In the last year, BiQi has grown by 500%, but without the scalable solutions Metro provides, I don’t know that we would have come so far, so fast.  We’ve grown so much, we’ll need to move into a large office space and we are thrilled we’ll be able to stay in the Metro family!  We’ll be moving into one of their large office spaces at the CoWork coming to East Avenue in early 2018!
